Rising Silver Prices & Impact of Corona Pandemic in Mexico

Silver prices have increased more than 80% in the last year! This means an additional financial burden for the silversmiths in Taxco when purchasing the valuable raw material and a higher risk if they cannot safely sell the handcrafted jewelry.

In addition, the consequences of the pandemic are making everyday life more difficult: The lack of tourism and the nationwide economic crisis have a direct impact on the income situation of the artisans in Taxco. The sales opportunities for their handicraft products have become even fewer and families are hit hard by the loss of sales due to a lack of alternatives or government support.

Donate old silver & give joy!

If the price of silver has risen so enormously, why don't we just send used silver to Taxco for processing and recycling? Doesn't everyone have inherited silver jewelry or unused silver objects that are no longer worn or used? Why should this valuable raw material lie in the box unheeded when it could alleviate worries elsewhere and be made usable again? A classic win-win situation, because giving makes you happy & something good is also done for the environment!

How it works:

If you still have old rings, necklaces, bracelets or items made of silver and no longer have any use for them, then send these silver items by post to the address below by October 31, 2021!

ATTENTION!

-The silver objects must be made of real, solid silver and have an appropriate hallmark (925, 950, 999 stamp).

-Silver objects with embedded stones or pearls may also be collected & handed in.

-Unfortunately, silver-plated items cannot be accepted!

You don't have to worry about shipping to Mexico: On our next trip in autumn 2021, we will take the collected old silver stocks with us to Taxco and hand them over personally to our artisan families! The old silver is melted down, flows back into the recycling cycle and is processed by the silversmiths into new, beautiful pieces & give even more joy! Not only did you finally have a tidy jewelery box, but you also did something good! <3

Tell your customers about it and offer you all the old rings, necklaces, bracelets or silver objects that you own and no longer have to bring with you when you next go shopping.
